About our partnership

Coinciding with an increased demand from parents, Bankside Primary School has used the Our Languages project as an opportunity to offer Urdu and Bengali language classes to its pupils. Bankside’s partnership involves working with two supplementary schools; the Al Hassan Education Centre which provides the Urdu classes, and the Bangladeshi Community Centre which provides the Bengali classes. Classes are held once a week and are usually attended by approximately twenty pupils. Feedback so far shows that the children are enjoying the classes and are using their newly acquired language skills at home.
