About our school
Rokeby School is an all boys 11-16 inner city comprehensive in the London Borough of Newham. In July 2008 we became a specialist maths and languages school. In August 2008 they also received alumni status from the London Challenge programme, which means it the school can share their expertise and experiences with other schools. Specialist status was granted by the Department for Children, Schools and Families.
About our partnership
In partnership with Cumberland School and the Newham Somali Homework Club and Women’s Support Group, Rokeby School will offer Somali language classes to its pupils alongside pupils from its partner schools. Rokeby has established a strong working relationship with its partners and had previously worked with the Newham Somali Homework Club to offer space and resources for young people’s activities. It is hoped that the Somali classes will build on these successes.
