About our school
Ridgeway High School is an 11-16 mixed all ability school in Prenton, Wirral. It is a Business & Enterprise College and has recently become a Specialist Languages College. It is the only all ability Languages College in Wirral.
About our partnership
Ridgeway High School has teamed up with the Chinese Supplementary School in Birkenhead to provide afterschool Cantonese and Mandarin classes to its pupils. It is also using the Our Languages partnership to facilitate workshops on Calligraphy, Painting, Tai-chi and Chinese Festivals. From January 2009 onwards, Ridgeway High will begin offering adult classes in Cantonese and GCSE and A Level Chinese – all of which will be available to the local community. Ridgeway High believes that the partnership is not only helping it to promote and celebrate cultural diversity but, significantly, to raise the aspirations of its pupils by broadening their horizons.
