About our school

Dar UL Islam Jamia Muhammedia was set up in 1992, serving the Pakistani and Bangladeshi community by offering Quranic Language skills to young BME people. Since then they have developed and increased the services to provide activities for youth including sports, arts and crafts days as well as a programme whereby young girls are writing and acting in their own play to help other students to learn the Urdu language through drama. For the elder community members they provide community support for non-English-speaking community members and a meeting place for them to interact and exchange views. They have formed links with local providers including the Fire Services, who provide fire safety sessions, St John Ambulance, who offer First Aid courses for young people and OASIS @ Connexions Oldham, who give training and support to young people regarding drugs and alcohol misuse.
