NALDIC - Language Education for a Changing World
NALDIC and Kings College London are pleased to announce this joint conference to celebrate the launch of the Comenius funded project. NALDIC has made an active contribution to the development of this EU-wide project as a national partner. The project has developed the concept of ‘Inclusive Academic Language Teaching’ for bilingual pupils and will launch core curriculum modules for teacher education. The conference will explore these concepts and showcase practical examples of work around initial teacher education for diversity and content/language integration.

Plurilingualism and Pluriculturalism in a Globalised World: Which Pedagogy?
The second of the two international conferences will be held at INALCO in Paris from 17th - 19th June 2010.
These events are jointly organised by Languages of the Wider World CETL (at SOAS and UCL, London, UK – www.lww-cetl.ac.uk) and PLIDAM (at INALCO, Paris, France). Langscape (“Networking the European Research Community on Language Acquisition and Language Learning”) is also a conference partner.

Bringing up children multilingually can be challenging at times. This event will help the participants to understand the process and benefits of learning and using two or more languages from young age and to share experience and advice on bringing up children multilingually. It will be open to anyone interested in childhood bilingualism and multilingualism.

Plurilingual and Pluricultural Education: Focus on Languages of the Wider World
This international conference, the first of two on plurilingualism and pluriculturalism, will bring together researchers and practitioners to discuss plurilingual and pluricultural education with a particular focus on ‘languages of the wider world’: such as those of Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Eastern Europe, Scandinavia and the Netherlands.
