DETAILS
This international conference, the first of two on plurilingualism and pluriculturalism, will bring together researchers and practitioners to discuss plurilingual and pluricultural education with a particular focus on ‘languages of the wider world’: such as those of Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Eastern Europe, Scandinavia and the Netherlands.

Participants at this conference will define, analyse and explore new directions and paradigms for plurilingual and pluricultural education. The conference will also provide opportunities for further research and collaboration. Over 60 papers will be delivered in parallel sessions covering three broad themes: i) “Plurilingualism, multilingualism, language policies and planning”; ii) “Plurilingualism, identity and citizenship”; and, iii) “Language and intercultural education and innovation”. There will also be two special sessions: “Teaching Languages of the Wider World around the World” and “Teaching African Languages around the World”.
