What is Language World?

Language World is the annual conference and exhibition of the Association for Language Learning, the major UK subject teaching association for language teachers in all sectors of education. Whatever your role in languages education, you can’t afford to miss this essential event in the languages calendar. To be held in Leicester over two days from Friday 3 to Sat 4 April 2009.

Here you will find top thinkers in languages education speaking on topics close to their hearts, leading practitioners sharing their latest work, policy makers explaining the thinking behind recent developments, passionate teachers ready to exchange ideas and views? This unique annual event brings together the great and the good, the leading lights and the newest recruits, the old hands and the fresh young teachers – all finding ways to make language teaching even more enjoyable and even more effective.

This year’s programme includes:

• talks and plenary sessions for primary, secondary and lifelong learning
• updates on policy and new initiatives
• a strand of sessions on the new secondary curriculum
• languages in adult education
• a showcase of resources for language learning and teaching at all levels
• social events
